Bellied Up to the Blue Ridge Brewery
Consumed my first ’served’ beer in downtown Blue Ridge. Thought it appropriate to wait on the Blue Ridge Brewery and it was well worth the wait. When you go for beer and the food knocks your socks off you probably have a winner. I had the French onion soup, the shrimp app (served on a bed of saucy cheese grits), and a massive salad topped with service that had me feeling like a king.
I was a bit too busy with me hands & mouth to grab any photos of the cozy bar (perfect stools), but I managed to snap a few blurry shots from the iPhone as we closed the place down, without any staff attitude I might add. Can’t wait to go back.

What a great review of our favorite new restaurant!
Where is this place?
Next to the old post office on Depot St.
Had dinner last night at this cute little place in down town Blue Ridge.
I think the name was Danielles Great Eats (its kinda French)
Any how the food was spectacular we both had Osso Buco Ala Gremolata (braised veal)
whats this kind of food doing in a quaint village like Blue Ridge?
Sure do recomend this place.
The Brewery is a favorite lunch spot for my co-workers & I. Looking forward to having Dinner there in the near future. Dying to try the Shrimp & Grits =-)
The St Bernardus abt 12 on tap right now is perfect for a cool crisp night in Blue Ridge, GA… Thanks for the serving the good stuff! The Blue Ridge Brewery certainly has the support and guest referrals of Southern Comfort Cabin Rentals!
Friday night my wife and I stopped by the Blue Ridge Brewery to have a glass of wine at the bar and see what the place was like. We were greeted at the door and were told sorry reservations only, the bar had two people in it and I explained that we just wanted a glass of wine.
WE were refused entry. Personally it seems that the Brewery is over impressed with them selves.
Were from Naples Fl. and even on 5th Ave we have never been treated in this manner.
You will never see our faces there again and I personally will go out of my way to tell all my friends.
Our family LOVES the Brewery !!!! Now with beer & wine sales, Blue Ridge will be seeing more and more NICE restaurants like this one.
Great atmosphere….cool bar…..outstanding food……love the Angus burger !!!!
We’ve been to the Brewery with a party of 8 ( with reservations ). we all raved about the food and service but I can’t help wonder about the ‘reservations only” .Could lose alot of customers as John from Naples mentioned on the 14th. I live locally and we often just head out on the spur of the moment to eat in town. I guess we kno wwhere not to go. Being turned away does not give visitors a warm feeling.
We watched them turn Santa and Mrs. Claus away on the night of Light Up….
Come on, people…the Blue Ridge Brewery is a small restuarant. I’ve been there several times and have been treated royally. The explanation for reservations only is to ensure a fine dining experience and all you really have to do is call in advance…..how difficult is that???? I prefer to have a reservation and know that the restuarant is not rushing me through my meal and that AT LAST there is some fine dining in this neck of the woods…The food is outstanding and the staff is not only knowledgeable but fun as well…Look forward to making another reservation for dinner….It is really a simple thing to do…..
Do they deliver?
We had lunch and it was good, service was not though. Had to go to bar and get our own drinks.
We went in for dinner and the first thing out of the greeters mouth was” do you have a reservation?’, not “Good Evening” or “Welcome”. We were told that the bar was full and we could not get a beer or a bite to eat, had to come back later. When asked where we could get a beer and a bite to eat, she told us she was not from here and did not know!!
Well that says it all!!
We were not offered a chance to make a reservation either. We felt like we were actually disturbing them and not welcome. We will not go back.
The name is a brewery pub- usually at a pub you do not need reservations and can sit at the bar and eat as well. The name does not fit the way they are operating as a restaurant. If they want to be exclusive, that is fine, but do not mislead the general public. Especially the local business owners who are the ones who support local businesses!!
Being unfriendly to local business owners is not good business!!
We saw Santa and Mrs. Claus go over to the Blue Jeans for dinner. They were welcome there!! So were we!!!
There is a reason it is called the “HOSPITALITY” Industry!
Whats going on with the Brewery they were closed Thursday and on top of that I hear they have lost there main Chef.
I ran into their opening chef today. He said he was only hired to get them up and going - no issues, everything went as planned. He has another full time job that he is quite happy with that is not as demanding.
I’m just guessing about their being closed on Christmas Eve, but I’ll bet they gave everyone the day off to be with family and loved ones. Lots of local businesses were closed all day or closed early on Christmas Eve.
I’m really looking forward to Blue Ridge becoming a destination for many, many people. Restaurants are a big part of that and I look forward to seeing all the new restaurants succeed. You may want to check out the website of the Brewery, they were closed the 24th-29th for the holidays.
Good luck guys!
your right on Jerome the more good restaraunts we have in Blue Ridge maybe just maybe we can keep the cutomers in Fannin county
5 bucks for a draft beer….in Blue Ridge? Good luck with that, let us know how it turns out. I went there with three friends before Christmas. We stood in the doorway for ten minutes totally ignored (they had four customers at the bar). The uppity bartender begrudgingly served us a beer. Maybe attitudes play well down in the big city, doubt it will go over well with the locals. I know it didn’t with me. I won’t be back.
Get there quick folks, this place will be a thrift store in 6 months.
Wow, I would think “local” people would be more willing to support local business. The better local businesses do, the more people come to town, the more money goes into our town, and the more your property value goes up when you get ready to sell. It really does help everyone in the long run. We have to be careful or the whole town may fall.
The “locals” do support local business, but $5 beer and surly help? I choose not to reward incompetence and greed. Blue Ridge was here long before the Brewery and we’ll be here after they’re gone, I highly doubt the failure of a snooty eatery will come into play.
If my property value goes up any more I won’t be able to afford the taxes. Myopia at it’s finest.
Come up to Blue Ridge on spur of the moment, but often, a few times a month every month. Have tried to make reservations for a Sat night at the Brewery. I always get the same thing…”We are full”. It would be nice to actually go into town on the spur and decide to eat on the spur, even if I have to wait. It would even be nicer if there was some shopping that could be done while I was waiting.
Attitude is all I can say. Asked for the full menu at the bar and was told I could only have it if seated. Being solo,I wanted to eat and leave. The bar tender, initially consumed with changing out a keg (had no clue) had an attitude. I travel a lot and this is the first time ever I could not get a full menu at the bar. As for me, I will NEVER step foot into this place again. These type places self destruct. Thank goodness for Christie Lees. I was welcomed there and had great food. I will be moving to Blue Ridge soon and you can bet I will NOT be an advocate of this place. Hopefully the funeral will not be long.
I love, love, LOVE Blue Ridge Brewery & whenever we are up at our cabin, it is a *must do* to go eat there. We know the hours & the reservation rule so this is why we go during lunch. We plan accordingly as the food & service really is that good. (I mean…SERIOUSLY THAT GOOD!!!) I tell all of my guests that rent my cabin that they must go & let them know beforehand the reservation rule but that lunch is the best time to go IMO. It’s really not that hard to follow. Trust me, I’m not thrilled that the city itself rolls up the carpet @ 5 but ya know…Blue Ridge is a quaint little town & I love it’s quaintness. I must learn to adjust my schedule to go to the places that I want to. I’m not thrilled that L&L Beanery Cafe closes early but hey…..if I want good food, I adjust my schedule.
BTW…I’ve worked in a bar for the last 20 years & for most of those places, we don’t offer a full menu for bar patrons…just apps. It’s not uncommon….and I’ve seen the patrons get served off of the full menu for lunch so perhaps go during the day. Or not…. The one great thing about Blue Ridge….soooooo many great places to eat! Can’t wait to get up there in 10 days!!!! MMmmmmmM!!!
