Scenic Railway making a special run for “Light Up the Basin”
The BR Scenic Railway is running a train for the McCaysville/Copperhill “Light Up the Basin” on the afternoon of Friday, Dec 1st. It will leave BR at 5PM, arriving at 5:45PM, then departing after the event @ 8PM. Tickets are $28 for adults & $14 for children 2-12. According to a call to the ticket office at 11AM on Thursday the 30th, there were “plenty of tickets left”. How many people enjoyed the wonderful story specifically written for the season and the train? That story was written and the book was illustrated by two local women.
Unfortunately, rumor has it that it will be discontinued next year. I urge anyone who enjoyed the story to contact the railway and request that it return.
