Lightup Blue Ridge - November 25th, 2006
Santa arrives at the depot by train at 1:30 in the afternoon then there will be free photos with Mr. Claus. A candlelight processional starts at 6pm, and the lighting of the big tree in the park begins at 6:30pm. Most downtown merchants are open until 8pm and there will be live entertainment around town.
During and after “Lightup”, I’ll be pointing the cam at whatever decorations and white-bearded guys in red suits I can set my sights on. If you can’t make it to the celebration, you should be able to catch at least some of it on the webcam.

Great, Kip. Thanks, I am looking forward to watching, if I can’t get up there to join in on the fun!
My wife and our Son and his family drove up to the area for the long Thanksgiving week-end from Ft. Lauderdale. We all had a great day on Saturday walking around town, eating, shopping and ending the day with the lighting of the tree.It was crowded but certainly nothing compared to what we are use to. Everyone was cheerful and in a good mood. The week-end was well worth the drive. Unfortunately we have returned to the insanity of South Florida - but will be returning.
