Nights are getting mountain cool

Starting to sleep with the windows open. It’s about time to start thinking about firewood, starting to smell it burning on weekend evenings. The weather station’s just starting to dip into the 50s.

This time of year always triggers childhood memories of my time spent at Camp Pioneer (now a resort/campground). The N GA Mountains seemed like the other side of the world; never would have guessed then that I would be living right down the road. Here comes the best time of year for the southern Appalachians in my opinion.
